Product Details
Sylvagrow Farmyard Manure is an excellent soil improver which provides gardeners with a 100% peat-free, rich source of organic matter for all soils. Adding nutrients, improving fertility, and yields! Made from anaerobic digestate which is a by-product of renewable energy production.
Best used as a mulch on borders, around trees, and on vegetable plots and raised beds. Spread 5-8cms/2-3 inches on the soil surface having first removed any weeds. It is very effective around established plants – but best to avoid going right up to the stems and trunks of your plants. If used as a soil improver for your borders spread the same amount on the soul surface and then dig over. This will enhance the soils organic matter levels and improve fertility – providing a slow-release source of nutrients.

Mark H. (verified owner) –
Good for breaking up clay soil, if rotavated in, and does not have errant seeds that a lot of other manures which are not properly rotted. Good for dressing around plants to retain moisture at the roots. A recent significant price rise (from 4.99 to 6.99) means I have given it a 4 star, but still good value if you compare across the internet, and are willing to pick up yourself from the Alton site.
