Field Maple Hedging Plants are fast growing and can be planted as a stand-alone tree or as part of a mixed hedgerow. Beautiful green leaves tinged with a pink edge in Spring turn fiery yellow and orange in the Autumn adding beautiful colour to your hedge.

Product Details

Field Maple is a fast growing plant. It will grow 20-60cm per year. We recommend that you trip your Acer in autumn after the birds have finished nesting.

Field Maple forms a super native habitat for birds, insects and small mammals. It is fully hardy even in the coldest of winters.

Simply choose the height of the plants you want to plant now and the number of plants you need.

We recommend 5 plants per metre in a double zig-zag row for a thick hedge, but you can get away with 3-4 per metre in a staggered row if you don’t mind waiting an extra year or two to form a thick hedge.

Keep them well watered – especially in the Spring and Summer in the first year of planting. If you are not sure how many plants you need or which varieties suit your garden please just contact or call us and we will be happy to offer friendly advice!
