Description

This is for a pack of fantastic quality potted Thuja Plicata Hedging Plants (Western Red Cedar)

Thuja plicata (Western Red Cedar) is an ideal plant to use for an evergreen hedge and very easy to look after and manage.

It will grow in all soil conditions and can thrive in full sun or shade. It is like leylandii but grows at a slower rate (up to about 60cm a year) and can easily be trimmed to any hedge height from 1.5m – 6m – Not only is it evergreen but it also has a lovely scent, if you rub the plant leaves is has a soft pineapple fragrance. If it does get out of hand, you can also cut it right back and it will re-shoot from the trunk. 

You may wish to protect your plants from rabbits. Please see our section on rabbit guards.

We recommend planting with Rootgrow mycorrhizal gel to maximize the uptake of nutrients and water from the soil.
